Ask a Question
  • Hello. I have a 2000 Ford F150 4-wheel drive. With a Four level rear leaf spring. I do a lot of off-roading and carry some weight in the back of my truck not a lot. My question is if I upgraded to a 5-level will that affect my flexibility off-road allow me to handle a little more weight and be a tad more stiffer?

Going to a 5 leaf will certianly increase your capacity and ability to handle more weight. This will make the ride; a bit more stiff, will raise the rear end, and will most likley decrease the amount of articulation you get off-road. Capacity and flexability are at opposite ends when it comes to suspension parts. When you adjust for one, you sacrifice some of the other. I hope this helps!
